Frequently Asked Questions

Why do we use Lactobacillus Reuteri?

Lactobacillus Reuteri has been shown to heal the lining of the intestinal tract and increase oxytocin levels in the brain. Increased oxytocin can lead to many benefits, including improved mood and vitality, better sleep, softer skin and hair, weight loss, and accelerated wound healing.

Is it a yogurt?

Essentially, yes. However, to describe a product as a "yogurt," the FDA requires the presence of three specific strains of bacteria. GoodGut Probiotics only uses Lactobacillus Reuteri, so we cannot call it yogurt.

Where can I buy it?

We are currently located at the Cardiff Farmers Market (Saturday 10am-2pm) and the Point Loma Farmers Market (Sunday 9am-2pm) or for delivery in San Diego county. If you are interested in purchasing, please contact us at thundercultures@gmail.com!

How much should I eat?

We recommend working up to 1/2 cup per day. You can eat it plain or add your favorite toppings like fruit and granola, or mix it into a smoothie!

When should I see results?

It can vary. While some people notice results in a week, most tend to see changes after a month of eating GoodGut consistently.

Are there any side effects?

You may experience a cleanse (more frequent/loose bowel movements) the first few times eating it.

What does it taste like?

A mix between yogurt and cottage cheese, but creamier, smoother, and richer. Yum!

How is it made?
We mix milk from a local farm in Southern California with Lactobacillus Reuteri then allow it to ferment.

How do I store it?

Keep it in the fridge. We do not recommend eating straight out of the container. You should avoid putting contaminated spoons back in to the quart.
